Stay on Free if it is cheaper

A plan only makes sense once the lower rate saves you more than the plan costs, and the figure is on each card above. Below it you are better off on Free, and we would rather say so than take $29 a month from a church that will not see it back.

What the percentage covers

It is a flat percentage of a gift with no fixed component, so it is the same proportion on $5 as on $500. Stripe charges the church its own 2.9% + 30¢ separately, and the giving page shows the gift, both fees and what the church receives before a donor commits. Donors can choose to cover the fees so the church nets the full amount. The same rate applies to space booking deposits and balances.

Livestreaming is free on every plan

Connect your YouTube channel and your service plays on your own page, with your chat, giving and events around it. It costs us nothing to serve, so it costs you nothing. Two YouTube limits are worth knowing: its Content ID system scans live audio and can mute or stop a stream over worship music without a CCLI streaming licence, and channels under 1,000 subscribers can be capped near their subscriber count in concurrent viewers.

When you would want private streaming

YouTube cannot keep a service members-only — an unlisted link is a secret, not a permission — and it is always subject to Content ID. Streaming through oabba on the Church plan does both: the audience is enforced by who has actually joined your church, and nothing is scanned. That is the one part of streaming with a real cost behind it, which is why it sits on the top plan.

Members never pay

Following a church, watching a service, giving, applying to volunteer and booking a space are free for the people in the pews. Only churches pay.
