Terms of Use

You must provide accurate information and are responsible for activity under your account.

You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction, or have permission from a parent or guardian.

Creating a church page means you are authorised to represent that church. Publishing a page for an organisation you do not represent is grounds for removal.

The church owner is responsible for the content on their page and for the people they grant access to it.

You keep ownership of what you publish. You grant oabba the licence needed to host and display it within the service.

oabba is a platform for Christian events. An event marketed through it must have a substantive Christian purpose in its programme, and one that does not is refused before it can sell a ticket. Denominational disagreement, an unfamiliar worship style and good-faith theological debate are not grounds for refusal — the Community Guidelines set out how the line is drawn.

Do not post unlawful content, impersonate others, harass anyone, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or to other accounts.

Do not use the service to solicit funds for anything other than the church the page represents.

oabba is not the merchant of record. Tickets, room rentals and gifts are charged by Stripe directly on the church's or organizer's own Stripe account, which they open and control through oabba. Opening one means also accepting Stripe's Connected Account Agreement, which governs that account.

We take nothing from a gift. Tickets carry the service fee shown at checkout for the organizer's current plan, and room rentals carry a 5% service fee. Both are added on top of the published price and paid by the buyer or renter — so an organizer receives the ticket's face value and a church receives the hourly rate it published. Our fee is collected as a Stripe application fee on the same charge.

Stripe charges its own processing fee to the account receiving the money, directly and separately from ours. Monthly plan subscriptions are billed by oabba and are separate from all of the above.

An event's refund policy is set by its organizer and shown on the event page before anyone pays. That policy governs the ticket.

Nothing is charged while an event is gauging interest or holding reservations. A payment method may be saved with Stripe, but no payment is taken until the venue and date are confirmed. If an event does not reach its goal, or is cancelled before it is confirmed, the saved payment method is not charged and there is no payment to refund.

Refunds are issued from the account that received the payment. Because we take nothing from a gift, a refunded gift is returned in full, less any amount Stripe does not return to that account.

An organizer may buy sponsored placement for a public event from oabba. Promotion is a separate platform purchase charged by oabba, not a ticket payment to the event organizer. A qualified impression costs $0.02 and counts only after at least half of the sponsored card is visible; repeat views from the same anonymous browser are counted at most once per campaign per UTC day.

Reach figures are estimates, not guarantees. Delivery is paced across the selected dates and depends on available eligible visitors, the event's location and category, campaign status, and the event remaining public.

Any funded campaign value that is not delivered becomes boost credit valid for 90 days. Cash later refunded or reversed by Stripe is removed before that credit is calculated, so the same value is not returned twice. Promotional grants and one-time credit codes expire on the date shown, have no cash value, and cannot be transferred after redemption. A code can be redeemed once and may be restricted to a named organizer.

A card dispute is raised against the account that took the payment — the church's or the organizer's — and Stripe debits that account for the disputed amount and for its own dispute fee. We do not decide disputes and cannot overturn one; we record what Stripe reports and show it to the account holder.

A dispute or refund against an event-promotion charge stops sponsored delivery while the payment state is reconciled. Delivery may resume after a won dispute; a lost dispute is treated as reversed cash when unused boost credit is calculated.

We may withhold payouts, suspend listings, or close an account that shows a pattern of disputes, unfulfilled events, or takings it cannot account for.

oabba is not a tax adviser and does not issue tax receipts on a church's behalf. The receipt we email confirms that a payment was made and what it was for. Whether a gift is tax-deductible, and what documentation a donor needs to claim it, is between the church and its donor under their own jurisdiction's rules.

A church or organizer is responsible for its own tax reporting on money it receives, including any sales or local tax due on a ticket or a rental.

Our Community Guidelines define how we review events, posts, and reports. We may reversibly hide content or suspend an event that clearly violates them. Where practical we will explain why.

The service is provided as is. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and features are added and changed over time.

You may stop using the service and permanently delete your account from Settings at any time.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or create risk for other users.

We will update this page when the terms change and revise the date at the top. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
